My research project has been leading me to many conclusions and considering I have only a few weeks left in this semester and then summer semester and I will be done, is it really worth the time for me to change how I've been doing things?
Not sure, but I have changed a few things, like I only check my school email account and the course shells during the day, I don't actually do any homework unless my mom has decided to take my children for an hour or two. My homework is now being completed at night whereas before I would sneak 20 minutes here and there throughout the day, but I always felt I wasn't giving it my all, so at least with doing it at night time I can concentrate more and feel I'm giving it my full attention (except now I'm up later). Some of the recurring themes I'm finding for those seeking higher education while staying at home or even those working full-time is layout the ground rules with your family, which I must admit I didn't do. If you have school-age children, have study times together, I found several resources that stressed this, people found that when children see their parents who are going back to school studying and doing homework, it motivates them to do it as well (mine however are toddlers, I did have color times - they colored while I did homework). And the other recurring theme was be sure to have and enjoy family time - give yourself breaks and when spending time with the family, enjoy it, which I would second that, I do enjoy my family time and sometimes that is my only motivator to getting certain projects done.
So apparently, I should have done some reading about balancing it all prior to pursuing my degree rather than in the fifth of six semesters, but oh well.
I did write out a "To Do" list in regards to my school projects and what needs to be done, I'm thinking I need to break up by priorities (low, medium, high). Hopefully soon I'll get this all figured out...
Till next time....dena
